DAPHNE continued

Daphne Availability

Daphne prices and availability below should be taken as a guide only. It is very difficult  to know in advance which Daphnes will achieve a saleable standard for that season. Sometimes a plant will be perfectly healthy, but just a little smaller than I had intended and so the price will be reduced. In some cases, I will have plants propagated by different methods (the possibilities being cuttings, seed or grafting). These can result in different rates of development and consequently different prices. Therefore, it can save us all a lot of time if you e-mail me through your order for confirmation of both availability and price before sending your cheque.

In future, all Daphnes will be in 2 litre pots. Even the smaller growers have benefited from this greater size.

Due to a continually high number of forward orders for Daphne, we are sold out of many already, even for September, and are desperately low on others. Clearly this situation can only worsen as the season progresses.

Please do feel free to ring, or better still please, e-mail (this gives me opportunity to check before replying) to check availability prior to ordering. Alternatively, please fill your cheque out as a "not to exceed" (see Terms and Conditions" for details of how to do this.)

If I am unable to supply the Daphne that you want at present, I can add your name to the waiting list. This is an ongoing cycle - as plants become ready to go out, I contact those people at the top of the list. "First come, first served" is the underlying principle! Again please e-mail me, but do include your full postal address and telephone number .

Do not include money for them at this stage. This does not commit you to them, but it will put you higher up the list for next year. I am sorry that this has become necessary. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything clarified.

Daphne availability for 2011-2012 is poor by our usual standards. We have nice plants growing on of some of the more common evergreen species and hybrids, but virtually no alpines this year. Normal service will be resumed in due course...
