Lower Mead is For Sale!

Those of you who have followed my ramblings over the years will be aware that 2 years ago we purchased 50 acres of land approximately half an hour north west of our current site at West Hatch. Lower Mead has been our home since 1986 so it is with mixed feelings that we now offer the property for sale. However the time is right for us to take up a new challenge in a new direction and so we are moving! Sadly mother-in-law died soon after Christmas, so the annex is empty. Greta will be moving on to the next exciting phase of her life next autumn at University and Torsten will be going on to A levels. So this is a natural changing point to cause least disruption to our children. After all, Lower Mead is the only home they've ever known.

It would be wonderful to think that the next custodian here could share our passion for the wildlife that is so abundant and continue to treasure our collection of plants. The nursery is up and running with state of the art capillary beds and superb polytunnels. Although we won't be far away, we will be taking the new nursery in a different direction and with Nick heading towards retirement and wanting to wind things down a little to pursue other interests, our commercial venture will be more modest in the future.
