We have some 360 different magnolias in our collection that are in production, and I have divided these between 4 pages in the plant list. In these 4 pages, they are listed alphabetically by cultivar. For example, as a completely arbitrary example, Magnolia stellata 'Alixeed' will be listed in its place under A for Alixeed.

Thus, the 4 pages are divided by cultivar first letter:

• A - D   ie  'A. E. Bold'  to  'Dusty Pink'
  
• E - L    ie  'Early Rose'  to  'Lyle's Legacy'
  
• M - R   ie  'Mag's Pirouette'  to  'Ruth'   
  
• S - Z    ie  'San Jose'  to  'Yellow Sea'

In the listing below, I have added the species name where relevant. So if you're interested in cultivars of a particular species, they are also all listed together. However, the descriptions and photos will be found under the cultivar name. For example, if you're interested to know what cultivars of M. campbellii we offer, then looking under C below, you can see campbellii written to the left, and to the right of that are 6 names. If you wanted to know more about the cultivar M. campbellii 'Piet van Veen' for example, you would need to then refer to the 4 links above, identifying that the letter P falls between M and R, so that would be the link to click to take you to the appropriate page to find a photo and description of M. campbellii 'Piet van Veen'. 

I am still working on this complete re-vamp of the Magnolia section of our website. The first step was to up-date the basic listing to make sure that it  includes all the cultivars currently available. Following a challenging couple of years, I am excited to report that we have a fantastic crop of magnolias available in 3 litre pots for this planting season. These are all "home-grown" here in Somerset, so propagated and grown on the nursery here by ourselves, from material also grown here on our own stock plants. We will be offering many of these for the first time. I have already added lots of photos, because we all know that a photo is "worth a thousand words"... 

My next task will be to up-date all the descriptions. I will be working on it in the evenings as and when I can, periodically up-loading the up-dated pages. Meanwhile, if you need more detailed info about any cultivar, please don't hesitate to email me.

In time, I will link the names below to the appropriate entry and I will also put together pages for the main species, so that it will be possible to see the photos and descriptions of all the cultivars of Magnolia stellata for example, on the same page. Similarly, I will group all the yellow flowered cultivars together and there will be another page for summer flowering cultivars and another one for evergreens...etc...etc. So there's lots for me to do! Much of this will have to wait until next winter though. In the meanwhile, the 4 page complete alphabetical list by cultivar will have to suffice!

In addition to the new crop of 3 litre Magnolia, we also have a range of older specimens available from the open ground (the benefits of which I have extolled at length elsewhere in these pages). If you're overwhelmed by the selection, then you're welcome to describe (by email please) the visual effect you would like to achieve, listing as many criteria as possible, and I'm happy to make some suggestions and recommendations accordingly. If you would prefer something younger, so smaller and less costly, then that's fine too.
